Social Media Swipe Files
Becoming a social media influencer is hard. But we’re here to help. Here are some thought-starters to get you well on your way of spreading your knowledge of performance marketing and analytics.
Analytics: Why Marketing Attribution Sucks
Attribution sucks.
But this isn’t new news. Here’s why I hate it:
- It won’t take the lid off of your “black box” in growth. It will tell you where you spent money and how you made money, but it doesn’t tell you anything in between? And knowing what happens in between allows you to find and stop any leaks in your funnel.
- It makes you forget that you’re talking about people. When you’re working with dollars, you can split them in half and divvy up credit between a few different sources. It doesn’t work like that when you’re talking about people.
- Attribution is logical. People are not. Their path to purchase is rarely linear and rarely can be attributed back to just one source or one activity, but rather a combination of things.
This is why Marketing Contribution makes more sense. I tested out marketing contribution and customer journey analytics inside of Funnelytics and <insert something you learned, or a result that you achieved>.
Test it out for yourself for free here: <link>
Analytics: Marketing Contribution
Marketing attribution tells you where you spent money and where you made money.
But what happened in between?
Often, the biggest thing holding a business back from growth is not being able to answer that question. 👆
Marketing contribution measures to what extent all of your marketing efforts contribute to your conversions (making money).
If you want to see the value marketing contribution can bring to your business, use the link below. You can try Funnelytics Performance, which allows you to run marketing contribution reports (and so much more) free for 14 days.
Mapping: Benefits of Customer Journey Mapping
What’s the most important step in creating a customer journey?
Visualizing it. Putting pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard and mapping out your journey has many benefits:
- Better team alignment: If you have a visual that shows how you intend for your customers to find you, and what they’ll do once they land on your website, its easier to align across the business–marketing, sales, customer success–on what your customers go through before converting.
- Improved customer experience: By mapping out the customer journey, you can identify potential pain points, roadblocks and areas of opportunity to improve your customer experience.
- Improve ROI: It’s proven that companies who do effective customer journey marketing see higher conversions and better retention.
If you’re ready to start your customer journey mapping today, I recommend creating a Funnelytics Mapping account. It’s free forever and super easy to use. <Link>
Analytics: 5 Ways to Optimize Customer Journeys
In the business of performance marketing, the job is never done. There’s always room for improvements. If you’re looking for 5 quick ideas on how you could optimize your customer acquisition efforts, watch this quick video.
<Insert a story of how you optimized something, what results you saw, and how you used Funnelytics to pinpoint what to optimize and see your results.>

Analytics: Better Understand Customers
To better understand your customers you need to know:
- What traffic sources got them excited to come check you out
- What pages they landed on and what they did on those pages
- What actions they took before they converted to becoming a customer
Most tools make it way too hard to understand those 3 things. Funnelytics makes it easy. Use the link below to test it out for yourself free for 14-days.
Mapping: McKinsey Stat
“Maximizing customer journeys has the potential to not only increase customer satisfaction by 20%, but also lift revenue by 15% while lowering the cost of service customers by as much as 20%”
– McKinsey & Company
Sounds great, right? Wondering how you can get started?
The first step is to plan and visualize your path to purchase. You can get started for free by creating a Funnelytics Mapping account. Here’s how: <link>
Blog Post Ideas
Blogging can be a great way to share your knowledge (and your affiliate URL). If you don’t have your own blog, you can create one on the LinkedIn Publishing Platform, test out sites like medium.com or start up your own. Whatever you decide, here are a few ideas to get your wheels turning on what you could write about.
Why a Customer Journey Map is Critical for Your Business Success
This post could cover the benefits of creating a customer journey map, such as improving your customer experience, better alignment between cross-functional teams, an increase in ROI and more.
You could create customer journey templates using the Funnelytics share feature to bring people to create a mapping account, or you could add a CTA in the footer to promote a free mapping account.
The role of different mediums play in a customer journey
You could write a blog about the role different mediums–like organic traffic, paid traffic, email, and referrals–play in the larger customer journey. You could use Funnelytics as visual aids and link to a shared canvas or use a CTA at the end of your blog for people to create a free mapping account.
How to run and measure a split test
You could write about the importance of continual optimization in performance marketing, then tell your audience how to set up an effective (and statistically significant) A/B test. You could create a template inside of Funnelytics to measure a split test and link out to it. In the footer, you could also indicate that you use Funnelytics to measure your split tests and call out our free trial to get your audience started.
How to not make tracking an after thought
We’ve all done it. Planned and launched the perfect customer acquisition program. And then one of our colleague asks us “how many people are watching our new demo video?”, “how deep are people scrolling into the page?” or any other question that we can’t answer because we forgot to set up analytics.
You could write a blog and share why it’s important to cover measurement when you’re planning out your customer journey. Mention that if you plan inside of Funnelytics, once you’re done you can turn on the analytics switch and all of your measurement is taken care of.

The pros and cons of funnel hacking
Looking to see what our competitors or peers are doing to get ideas for our own programs is never a bad thing. Or is it? Sure it can save you some time and effort, but what are the risks involved?
You could write a blog post that lists the pros and cons. You could indicate that Funnelytics has a template library that can be accessed on paid performance plans and give them a link to sign up.

Did you know that 65% of the population are visual learners? There’s a good chance that your team, boss and boss’s boss learn best from visuals, too.
Spreadsheets and graphs are not the best way to show you (and your team) what’s going on inside of your marketing ecosystem. Visual analytics are. If you’re looking to get buy-in for big changes to your program, you need to switch up the way you’re presenting the facts.
